Associate Degree Apprenticeship Program – Underwriting Associate – Atlanta, GA (Summer 2026) 126132 Zurich North America’s Apprenticeship Program offers a two‑year apprenticeship in general insurance, combining hands‑on underwriting experience with an Associate in Applied Science degree. About the Program Our innovative General Insurance Apprentice Program gives participants the opportunity to gain a first‑time higher education while earning experience to launch a rewarding career in commercial insurance. Responsibilities Service accounts throughout our end‑to‑end process. Access and evaluate underwriting processes while implementing best practices. Follow instructions from underwriters on policy rating and pricing. Review application of mandatory policy forms in relation to accounts. Resolve inquiries from brokers, underwriters, and internal customers. Earn & Learn Program The two‑year program in Atlanta combines virtual coursework at Harper Community College with relevant work rotations at Zurich North America’s Atlanta office. Earn a tuition‑free Associate in Applied Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Insurance (virtual at Harper College). Receive a Department of Labor Certificate of Apprenticeship. Develop credentials and skills for today’s ever‑changing marketplace. Compensation The hourly rate for this position is $19.24, with short‑term incentive bonus eligibility set at 5 %. Compensation is influenced by factors such as role, skill set, and location. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Professional work experience not required. Must be enrolled and validated as college‑ready by Harper Community College Admissions. Preferred Qualifications One or more years of work experience and/or leadership role in student activities and/or significant voluntary community service. Interest in pursuing a career in the insurance industry. Ability to balance multiple priorities between work and school deadlines. Strong customer service skills. Collaboration and problem‑solving skills. Ability to communicate with impact. High degree of self‑discipline and focus. Attention to detail. Ability to collaborate and work successfully in a team environment. Intermediate computer skills, specifically Excel. Ability to navigate learning and interactions in an online environment.
