Patty O's Caf & Bakery is a new restaurant by Patrick O'Connell, the award-winning chef and proprietor of The Inn at Little Washington. This is a position that assists the operation of the bar and the proper closing of the bar as well as performs all server's assistant tasks as needed/scheduled. The team member is able to seamlessly slide between the two roles and assist in both throughout any given shift.
SERVER'S ASSISTANT
1. Ability to clear and reset tables in a timely manner
2. Assists with polishing all glassware and silverware as needed
3. Redistributes glassware once polished
4. Creates sets and roll ups as needed
5. Working knowledge of floor plan and position numbers
6. Assists servers with making iced tea, lemonade, coffee and hot tea
7. Can brew iced tea and coffee as needed
8. Creates bread baskets to our standard and can deliver them to the table and recite one-liner
9. Able to walk food to tables, deliver dishes using open-handed service and recite one-liner for each dish
10. Capable of presenting the Dessert Trolley at a table
11. Able to process a guest payment when/if needed.
12. Checks in with host regularly to see what tables need to reset and to confirm correct party size
13. Willing and able to train all newly hired Server's Assistants in all aspects of the role.
BARBACK
1. The ability to close the bar down in a timely fashion and to our standards utilizing the nightly checklist
2. Ensures the nightly checklist is signed off on by a leader/manager
3. Assists with polishing and restocking glassware throughout the shift and at the end of the night
4. Familiarization of the liquor room and where all beverage products are kept
5. Ability to restock the bar utilizing the bar restocking par sheet
6. Able to juice and assist with basic preparation functions as needed
7. Assist bar team with tasks needed to help the bar run smoothly and efficiently
8. Assists with guest maintenance as needed
9. Able to help prep garnishes
10. Basic knowledge of cocktail/beverage menu to assist bartenders preparing drinks on high demand shifts.
Required
1. Excellent communication skills
2. Must be at least 18 years of age
3. Must be well-groomed and well-presented
4. Must have reliable transportation
Desirable
1. Familiarity with Forbes Standards
2. Ability to communicate in a language other than English, preferably Spanish or French
3. Certification in alcohol awareness program
4. Certification in CPR
1. Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing
2. Strong interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written
3. Must always be organized and maintain cleanliness of workstation
4. Ability to speak using clear and professional language
5. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
6. Ability to cross-train across multiple departments and assist when needed
7. Ability to assist guests with questions about the property, its history, and surrounding areas.
