About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief People Officer (CPO) to join its executive team. The CPO will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive people and culture strategy that is in line with the organization's mission and strategic goals. This includes fostering a culture of belonging, inclusion, and respect, and serving as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board of Trustees. The role involves overseeing all aspects of talent management, from acquisition to development, and ensuring that the workforce is skilled, inclusive, and aligned with the company's values. The CPO will also lead change initiatives, manage performance systems, and be the lead communicator for people and culture policies. Candidates for the CPO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in a related field, with at least 10 years' of progressive experience in people and culture, including 5 years' in senior leadership. HR certification is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing comprehensive people and culture operations, including recruitment, benefits, compensation, compliance, and staff development. Experience in labor relations and collective bargaining is essential. The CPO will be expected to have excellent facilitation, coaching, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as strong technical skills with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite. The role requires a leader who can build and maintain a strong, collaborative team culture and who is adept at anticipating and meeting the future workforce needs of the organization.
