Job Description

As a Copywriter at Common Good, youll be responsible for coming up with and creating award-winning work that creates success for our clients and is respected by our peers. Youll be guided and inspired by the Creative Director, but youll be expected to make everything your own. We operate in a highly collaborative environment, so youll be asked to take suggestions from others openly and produce your very best work on a daily basis. Conceptual skills are a must, as this position will require thinking on all levels. As an agency that works in every form of media, youll be participating in all aspects of our integrated output.Youll do:Independently write compelling, persuasive copy both long-form and short-form that is succinct, grammatically flawless, and strategically on point.Partner with creative and cross-functional teams to develop integrated concepts, contributing original ideas and refining messaging across campaigns.Confidently create and evolve brand voice guidelines, ensuring consistency and distinctiveness across multiple touchpoints.Proactively identify strong creative territories and translate them into campaignable ideas.Develop fresh tones, styles and messaging approaches to help shape and strengthen client brands.Demonstrate mastery of writing across platforms video, print, digital, social, activations, packaging and more with equal ease.Uphold brand integrity and craftsmanship across deliverables, elevating quality and pushing for award-worthy work.Present creative concepts with clarity and confidence to internal teams and, at times, directly to clients.Generate multiple, differentiated executions per assignment and articulate the rationale behind each.Contribute to building big creative platforms in collaboration with the Creative Director.Stay sharp on emerging media formats and proactively suggest how to apply them in campaigns.Accept and integrate feedback with professionalism while maintaining ownership of your craft.Consistently manage projects to hit deadlines while balancing creativity and executional excellence.Youll have:2+ years of agency or in-house copywriting experience with a strong portfolio that demonstrates conceptual thinking, versatility in tone and polished execution.Proven ability to think creatively and strategically, translating complex concepts into clear, engaging copy.Strong research and fact-checking skills that ensure accuracy and credibility in all work.Demonstrated skill in developing creative concepts that connect emotionally and drive results.Confidence in presenting work and articulating creative choices to both internal teams and clients.Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects without sacrificing quality.Familiarity with integrated campaign development and experience writing across a variety of media channels.Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, new platforms and evolving best practices in marketing and advertising.A collaborative, solution-oriented approach paired with the initiative to take ownership of projects.Tenacity, curiosity and passion for storytelling that inspires both colleagues and clients.A sense of humor and resilience that makes you a positive, flexible teammate in a fast-moving environment.Common Good is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
