Overview Live Figure Model - Digital Media and Animation role at Alfred State College - SUNY College of Technology . Location: Alfred, NY Category: Adjunct Faculty Posted On: Tue Oct 21 2025 Responsibilities Dramatically enhance students' learning by modelling dynamic and static poses ranging from short gestures of a few minutes to longer poses of an hour or more. Work in a respectful, studio environment alongside faculty and students, supporting their creative process and visual education. Provide a human reference for form, motion, weight, balance and gesture, helping bridge theoretical learning and practical experience. Qualifications Confidence and professionalism in working as a live figure model. The ability to hold poses and re-pose on schedule, with sensitivity to gesture, stability and subtlety of form. A comfortable demeanor in a studio setting; note that nudity is part of the educational assignment, framed as a serious teaching tool. Reliability, punctuality, and a collaborative spirit. Prior experience modelling for figure drawing or life-drawing classes is preferred (though not strictly required). Longer poses are provided with seating. Availability for Spring Semester 2026, during daytime hours.
