We are seeking a skilled and versatile Maintenance Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing, electrical and mechanical repairs. Carpentry and tiling experience is definitely an asset. This role requires a proactive individual who can handle a variety of maintenance tasks and renovations, particularly in vacant rental units.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform plumbing repairs and installations, including fixing leaks, installing fixtures, installing bathtubs and toilets.
• Conduct electrical repairs and installations, such as wiring, lighting, and troubleshooting basic electrical issues.
• Carry out mechanical repairs and maintenance on various equipment and systems. This is an asset.
• Renovate and remodel entire washrooms, including demolition, installation, and finishing work. Lay ceramic tiles and perform tiling work for floors, walls, and other surfaces as required.
• Execute woodworking tasks, including installing cabinetry, vynal flooring and trim.
• Ensure all maintenance and repair work is completed to a high standard and in a timely manner, with minimal supervision.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Travel between apartment buildings in Oshawa using own vehicle.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in plumbing, electrical work, mechanical repairs, woodworking, and tiling.
• Ability to renovate and remodel washrooms and kitchens from start to finish.
• Own a set of tools necessary for the job.
• Possess a reliable vehicle for transportation between job sites (5 to 10 minute drive between buildings).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Preferably reside in the Durham Region.
