Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead a high-volume, fast-paced metals manufacturing facility . This role is responsible for all aspects of plant operations, including production, safety, quality, maintenance, logistics, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving operational efficiency, employee engagement, and cost control in a high-output, precision manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all daily plant operations and ensure alignment with corporate goals in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Oversee a cross-functional team including production, maintenance, quality, engineering, and logistics.
  • Drive a culture of safety-first and ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Monitor and improve KPIs including OEE, scrap rates, throughput, downtime, and customer delivery performance.
  • Manage production scheduling and labor resources to meet demand while minimizing overtime and waste.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and drive continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Kaizen, SMED, etc.).
  • Ensure proper maintenance of machinery and facilities, including preventative and predictive programs.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality and process issues.
  • Develop and manage the plant budget, including cost control and capital expenditures.
  • Foster a positive culture of accountability, teamwork, and performance.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, engineering, and corporate leadership to support new product launches and capacity planning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field (MBA or advanced degree a plus).
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing management, with at least 5 years in a metals or high-volume production environment .
  • Strong knowledge of metal forming, machining, casting, stamping, or fabrication processes.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing LEAN , Six Sigma, and continuous improvement systems.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to build, develop, and motivate high-performing teams.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing analytics tools.
