Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 educational setting located in Holton, KS is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter for a contract position lasting the entire school year. This role requires a professional adept in interpreting American Sign Language (ASL) to support students, teachers, and staff, ensuring effective munication and an inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate munication between hearing-impaired students and their peers, teachers, and staff members.
• Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events.
• Collaborate with educators to provide appropriate acmodations and support for students requiring interpretation services.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all munications.
• Participate in regular training and team meetings to stay current with best practices.

Desired Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with verified certification.
• Experience working in educational settings, preferably K-12.
• Strong interpersonal and munication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledge of educational terminology and subject matter is advantageous.
