Guaranteed Hours: 40 
Shift: Monday – Friday, 8a – 4:30p, and as needed
Weekends/Holidays: As needed
Float: As needed
On Call/Call Back: To be discussed with manager
Required experience: 5 years clinical experience which includes two (2) years of progressive management experience (i.e Charge Nurse, Nursing Supervisor, Nurse Administrator, or Assistant Nurse Manager), Must have Cath Lab and EP experience
Required license/certifications: TX RN or Compact License, Certification in nursing specialty or administration, and AHA BLS
Job Summary: The Nurse Manager is accountable for the effective delivery of competent, compassionate, and efficient care for specific patient care unit(s) on a 24-hour basis. This includes oversight for clinical operations and human resources, financial, and quality management. The Cath/EP lab manager would need to have experience in budgeting, hiring and separating, procedures and equipment for EP and Cath Lab, Epic Cupid, Philips XIMS, GE Combo Lab.

o Mechanical ventilator
o IABP
o Impella
o Implants
o EP Ablation
Additional assignment information: 
o In order to perform the Nurse Manager role successfully, additional training classes will be required. These classes will be scheduled by the dept Director after completing HCSS orientation and Epic training. 
o The selected candidate will initially be training at the UTMB Galveston campus, then transition to the Clear Lake Campus for the remainder of the assignment. 
o May be required to be on standby and work extended shifts in situations deemed necessary by a designated Nursing Administrator. 
o May experience routine exposure to radiation that may require wearing a lead apron that weighs approximately 20 lbs. all day and other radiation protective device as needed
o May be exposed to such occupations hazards as communicable diseases, radiation, chemotherapeutic agents, and disoriented or combative patients
o Vision, hearing, and talking and sense of touch abilities must be adequate enough to enable one to quickly and accurately perform tasks such as: reading small print reading from monitoring equipment, defining details, sending and receiving clear and accurate verbal communication

No guaranteed hours first 2 weeks of contract
