Job Description
Shift: Sunday-Thursday; 8am - 4pm. Depending on operations, shift could be longer.
Compensation: $74,000-$78,000; based on candidate's experience + potential to earn up to 10% company bonus
- Lead and manage the recruitment process for warehouse personnel.
- Maintain effective communication with the Warehouse Manager to address operational issues promptly.
- Participate in annual supervisory training to enhance leadership skills.
- Strategically allocate work tasks to ensure efficient shipping schedules.
- Oversee team operations to ensure proper placement and handling of food and goods.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
- Train team members in the proper use of handheld scanning devices and other warehouse equipment.
- Manage customer relationships to maintain the company's reputation for excellence.
- Oversee quality control measures to ensure high standards in warehouse operations.
- Coordinate with suppliers and logistics partners to optimize supply chain efficiency.
Reporting:
- Analyze daily performance indicators to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all required documentation.
Warehouse Inventory Planning:
- Implement and maintain effective inventory control measures.
- Collaborate with the Manager to conduct quarterly counts and annual inventory audits using inventory management software.
Warehouse Operations:
- Thoroughly review load sheets to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee drivers' pre-departure checks to ensure all safety and regulatory requirements are met.
- Develop and present operational recommendations to the Manager for process improvements.
- Work with the Manager to maintain 5S standards throughout the warehouse.
- Conduct regular Gemba walks to identify areas for operational enhancements.
- Assist the Manager and Director with additional duties as assigned.
- Foster interdepartmental cooperation between warehouse operations and other business units.
- Develop and implement an effective performance evaluation system for warehouse personnel.
- Stay informed about industry trends and innovations to continually improve warehouse operations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED, some college with equivalent work experience, 2 year degree preferred
- 2-3 years of warehouse, manufacturing or production experience
- 2-3 years of supervisory experience
- Must have and maintain forklift certification
- Thorough knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory control
- Must successfully pass a background check every third year on your anniversary date
- Solid knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office software
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours
- Walking in/ around the warehouse with great frequency; many facilities are over a quarter mile in length
- Able to access all areas of the building (ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation)
- Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head
- Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures [33-38 degrees], and in environments with exposure to loud machinery
