Your Role: Administers medications as ordered by a physician under supervision of a licensed nurse. Accurately takes and records vital signs of residents as assigned. Documents reason for and purpose to PRN medications in a timely manner. Properly secures medications carts and/or medications rooms per state and federal regulations and facility policy. May dispense controlled drugs (schedule III, IV, V) and must accurately account for them under the supervision of the licensed nurse. Qualifications: Must have a Residential Care Specialist 1, or Personal Support Specialist (PSS) Certificate. May be trained within 4 months of employment. Must have 40-hour certified medication administration certification. Able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Basic computer knowledge.
