Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced On-Device ML Optimization Expert to join our team and expand our movement tracking capabilities to additional workouts and sports. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in developing and optimizing computer vision models specifically for mobile and edge devices, with a focus on human pose estimation, movement analysis, and real-time processing.

Key Responsibilities

•Model Development: Create and train new computer vision models for tracking movements and repetitions across various sports and workout types

•On-Device Optimization: Optimize ML models for efficient execution on mobile devices (iOS/Android) with minimal latency and battery consumption

•Performance Tuning: Apply techniques such as model quantization, pruning, and knowledge distillation to balance accuracy and performance

•Cross-Platform Implementation: Ensure models work effectively across different mobile hardware and accelerators (Neural Engine, GPU, DSP)

•Integration Support: Collaborate with Flutter developers to integrate optimized models into the mobile application

•Evaluation & Testing: Develop benchmarks and testing protocols to validate model accuracy and performance across devices

•Research: Stay current with the latest advancements in on-device ML, computer vision, and pose estimation techniques

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field; advanced degree (MS/PhD) is a plus but not required

• Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience developing and optimizing ML models for mobile/edge devices

Technical Skills:

•Strong expertise in TensorFlow Lite, CoreML, or similar on-device ML frameworks

•Proficiency in model optimization techniques (quantization, pruning, distillation)

•Experience with human pose estimation and movement tracking algorithms

•Strong Python programming skills and ML framework knowledge (TensorFlow, PyTorch)

•Understanding of mobile hardware accelerators (Neural Engine, GPU, DSP)

Domain Knowledge:

•Experience with human movement analysis, biomechanics, or sports science is highly desirable

•Understanding of fitness exercises and sports movements

Preferred Qualifications

•Experience with MediaPipe, BlazePose, MoveNet, or similar pose estimation frameworks

•Knowledge of Flutter or mobile app development

•Experience with real-time video processing on mobile devices

•Background in fitness, sports science, or kinesiology

•Experience with YOLOv8, EfficientDet, or similar object detection architectures

•Publications or contributions to computer vision or on-device ML communities
