Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A school in La Crosse, WI, is seeking an experienced onsite Sign Language Interpreter for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract position supports elementary school students and requires specialized experience working with students with Down Syndrome.

Key Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in educational settings
• Prior work with students diagnosed with Down Syndrome
• Strong skills in ASL and an understanding of diverse munication needs
• Ability to work onsite throughout the school year (NSY contract)

Location: La Crosse, WI

Responsibilities:

• Provide clear and effective sign language interpretation for elementary students, facilitating munication in the classroom and other school activities
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to acmodate the unique needs of students with Down Syndrome
• Assist in creating an inclusive learning environment that supports the social and academic development of students
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
