Village Square Portola Valley Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team! You’ll play a key role in both doctor and technician appointments, providing hands-on patient care, setting up and supporting outpatient procedures, demonstrating at-home care techniques, and ensuring clients feel confident managing their pets’ needs.

Day to day, you’ll assist our doctors during exams, perform technician visits, maintain accurate medical records, and keep treatment plans on track while fostering strong client relationships. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in client education, teamwork, and keeping appointments running smoothly.

This is a full-time position with a 5/8 schedule and availability needed Monday-Friday.

Full-time benefits and compensation**:

• Compensation: $22-26 per hour, for each hour worked*
• Bonus package: $500 for those with 3+ years of consecutive, current VA experience

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 2+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting
• Proficiency in the following skills:
  • Client service and education
  • Venipuncture and administering SQ injections
  • Radiography and in house laboratory processing
