Job Summary

 

The Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Valensa’s manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in production management, safety, quality control, and team leadership, along with a proven ability to drive operational excellence.This role oversees all aspects of production, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, driving continuous improvement, and meeting production objectives.

 

The facility operates on a 24/5 (or 24/7) production schedule, and the Plant Manager is expected to provide leadership and support across all shifts. Occasional after-hours or weekend availability may be required to ensure uninterrupted operations and to respond to urgent issues.

Essential Job Functions

· Oversee all day-to-day manufacturing activities including material handling, extraction, refinement, blending and packaging.

· Plans and prioritizes workloads to ensure production objectives are achieved within designated timeframes.

· Ensure accurate record-keeping, batch documentation, and traceability in accordance with regulatory requirements.

· Ensure equipment and supplies are readily and continuously available to support safe, timely, and interrupted production operations.

· Be data driven and implement continuous improvements to optimize plant performance in the areas of safety, quality, productivity and waste reduction.

· Optimize operational processes and resource allocation to improve efficiency and reduce plant and labor expenses.

· Drive operational efficiency to ensure compliance with quality, safety and production standards.

· Ensure compliance with safety regulations including hazard identification and risk management.

· Set and implement overall plant procedures to ensure effective operations.

· Ensure plant compliance with company policies, certification standards (USP, GMP, Halal, Kosher and Organic) and regulatory requirements.

· Ensure plant-wide maintenance activities are planned and executed to maintain optimal equipment performance and support uninterrupted operations.

· Coordinate with all departments to resolve all production issues in a timely and cost-effective manner.

· Provide training and guidance to workers to meet performance standards.

· Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and high performance across the facility.

· Recruit, hire, and onboard new production personnel as needed, in coordination with HR, to build a hig-performance team.

· Motivate, coach, and mentor team members to foster high morale, engagement, and accountability.

Minimum requirements

· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Science, Life Sciences, or a related field.

· 5+ years of experience in plant operations or production management, preferably within the nutraceutical, food, or pharmaceutical industries.

· Familiarity with extraction processes, blending and packaging is a plus.

· Working knowledge of GMP, and FDA requirements.

· Demonstrated ability to run manufacturing operations, lead teams and collaborate across departments to ensure efficient operations.

· Hands-on leadership style with solid communication and team-building skills.

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel for tracking KPIs, analyzing operational data, and generating production reports.

· HACCP training/certification is a plus.

Abilities Required

· Ability to climb stairs and access all areas of the facility as needed.

· Ability to response to and resolve production issues promptly, including outside of standard working hours.

· Ability to make informed decisions regarding plant maintenance and equipment reliability.

· Strong mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of manufacturing equipment and processes.
